If you are looking for an easy and delicious weeknight meal, then try this amazing Chicken Teriyaki!! Weeknights are so busy for my family but I love to have a home cooked meal at the end of the day. This recipe takes 5 minutes to put together and the slow cooker will do all of the work! It is a family favorite!! I love to serve it over rice with a side of roasted broccoli.
Ingredients:
-1 1/2 - 2lbs chicken breast (cubed)
-1/2 cup soy sauce
-1/4 cup dark brown sugar
-1 tablespoon honey
-1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
-2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
-4 cloves of garlic (chopped)
-2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
-1/4 cup of water
-2 tablespoons corn starch
-1 1/2 tablespoons sesame seeds (toasted)
-2 1/2 tablespoons scallions (sliced)
Next Step:
-Add the cubed chicken to the slow cooker.
-In a small bowl add the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Whisk to combine.
-Pour over the chicken, stir, and cover. Set the slow cooker on high for 3 1/2 hours or low for 6 hours.
-Take the chicken out and strain the teriyaki sauce.
-Add the strained sauce into a pot on the stove top. Simmer.
-Mix the cornstarch into 1/4 cup of water. Pour into the simmering sauce.
-Whisk continuously for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
-Pour the sauce over the chicken.
-Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and sliced scallions on top.
-Serve over rice.
