Shredded Chicken Taco's (Slow Cooker)


OMG this is the best dish! What is better than adding all of the ingredients into a slow cooker and then a few hours later you have a delicious meal for your whole family to enjoy! I love to make this during the week when we are all so busy. I will also make a large batch for parties and get togethers. It is so easy to make and absolutely delicious!


Ingredients:

-1 1/2 lb chicken breasts

-1 1/2 cup salsa

-1/2 yellow onion (chopped)

-juice from 1/2 lime

-1 large jalapeno (chopped) *optional

-Tortillas (corn or flour)

-Avocado

Taco Seasoning:

-1 tablespoon chili powder

-1 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

-1 teaspoon paprika

-1 teaspoon pepper

-1/2 teaspoon salt

-1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

-1/4 teaspoon onion powder

-1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

-Pinch of red pepper flakes

Next Step:

-Start with making the taco seasoning. In a small bowl combine the chili powder, cumin, paprika, pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and set aside.

-Add the chicken to the slow cooker.

-Sprinkle the seasoning all over the chicken. (both sides)

-Add the chopped onion on top of the chicken.

-Pour the salsa on top.

-Then drizzle the lime juice on top.

-Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

-Shred the chicken with 2 forks.

-Pan heat the flour tortillas and then add in the shredded chicken, sliced avocado, and sliced jalapeños. Feel free to add any other toppings you enjoy!

-Serve with a side of hot sauce.
