Red, White, & Blue Trifle!


These red, white, and blue trifles are the perfect dessert to serve at your July 4th party!! The combination of pound cake, homemade whipped cream, and fresh berries are spectacular together!! This dessert is easy to make and SO delicious!!! Happy 4th!! xo


Ingredients:

Pound Cake

-1 1/2 cups all purpose flour and 2 tablespoons

-1 cup salted butter (softened)

-1 cup granulated sugar

-4 eggs

-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fruit:

-Fresh strawberries

-Fresh blueberries

Whipped Cream:

-2 cups of heavy whipping cream

-4 tablespoons of powdered sugar

-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

-3 tablespoons mini dark chocolate chips


~Mason jars of various shapes and sizes~

Next Step:

-Preheat oven to 350F and line a 9x5 loaf pan with parchment paper.

-In a large bowl using a hand or stand mixer, add the butter and sugar and mix until combined.

-Then add in the eggs one at a time and continue to mix.

-Add in the vanilla.

-Lastly, mix in the flour.

-Add the batter to your loaf pan and bake for 60 minutes.

-Take out and let cool completely. (I like to make the loaf the day before)

-Slice the pound cake into small cubes.

-Wash and dry the blueberries and strawberries. Then slice the strawberries and set aside.

-Next, make the whipped cream.

-Add the whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla to a large bowl and mix on high for 5-7 minutes until thick high peaks form.

-Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

-Start putting together your trifle!

Add layers of:

~Whipped cream

~Pound cake

~Strawberries

~Blueberries

~Repeat until your mason jars are full!

-Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve!
