These are the BEST! If you are looking for a delicious bite size treat that is filled with nutrients, omega-3 fats, fiber, and protein....then make these delicious peanut butter chocolate Krispie treats! They are SO good and are perfect to grab on the go for a quick boost of energy.
Prep time: 8 minutes Refrigerate: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
-2 cups Rice Krispies (you can substitute GF Krispies)
-1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
-1/4 cup pure maple syrup
-1/2 cup peanut butter
-1 cup dark chocolate chips
Next Step:
-In a large bowl add the Rice Krispies and set aside.
-In a microwave safe bowl combine the peanut butter and maple syrup. Heat for 30 seconds to soften.
-Mix with a spoon or whisk to combine.
-Then add in the flax seeds and mix.
-Pour the peanut butter mixture onto the Rice Krispies and gently mix with a spoon.
-Add a heaping tablespoon of the mixture to your muffin tin. I prefer to line my muffin tin with silicone reusable liners. If you don't have them you can use regular muffin liners.
-Push down the mixture with your hand or with the back of a spoon. Continue to repeat this step until you have filled each muffin tin.
-In a microwave safe bowl add the chocolate chips. Heat on 25 second increments and stir after each time until fully melted.
-Once melted add a heaping teaspoon on top of the peanut butter mixture and try to evenly spread out covering the top. Continue to repeat this step for each one.
-Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-Serve and ENJOY!!
