Double Layer Brownie & Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars!


When you have trouble deciding between a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie...just combine them! This double layer cookie is decadent and SO delicious! The bottom layer is a chocolate chip cookie and the top layer is a dark chocolate brownie. It doesn't get better than this!


Prep time:10 minutes Cook time: 40-50 minutes

Ingredients:

Chocolate Chip Cookie:

-1 1/2 flour

-1/2 teaspoon baking soda

-1/4 teaspoon baking powder

-1/2 teaspoon salt

-1 egg

-1 teaspoon vanilla

-1/2 cup dark brown sugar

-1/2 cup granulated sugar

-1/2 cup butter (softened)

-1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Brownie:

-1 1/2 cup flour

-3/4 teaspoon baking powder

-1/4 teaspoon salt

-1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

-2 large eggs

-1 cup granulated sugar

-1/2 cup butter softened

-1/2 cup dark chocolate chips


Next Step:

-Preheat oven to 350 F and put parchment paper in an 8x8 baking dish.

-Start with the chocolate chip cookie layer.

-In a large bowl with a hand or stand mixer, combine the butter and sugars.

-Then add in the egg and vanilla. Continue to mix.

-In a small bowl add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix with a spoon to combine.

-Slowly add the flour mixture to your wet ingredients and mix with your mixer.

-Add the chocolate chips and mix with a spoon.

-Add your cookie dough to the baking dish. Set aside.

-Start on your brownie layer.

-In a large mixing bowl with a hand or stand mixer, combine the butter and sugar.

-Once mixed add your eggs one at a time until smooth.

-In a separate small bowl, add the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Mix with a spoon to combine.

-Add your flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix with your hand/stand mixer.

-Once the dough forms, add in your chocolate chips and stir.

-Carefully add your brownie dough on top of the chocolate chip cookie dough. Spread around to make it even.

-Put in the oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a fork inserted comes out clean. (oven time will vary on this recipe)

-Let rest for 15 minutes.

-Serve and ENJOY!!!
