Bucatini Arrabbiata!!


This is one of my favorite classic Italian pasta dishes! It is bursting with flavor and has a great spice! It is simple to make and so delicious!


Ingredients:

-1 lb Bucatini

-1 28 can of San Marzano Crushed Tomatoes

-1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

-2 tablespoons extra virgin light olive oil

-1/4 small yellow onion (chopped)

-4 cloves of garlic (chopped)

-1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

-a pinch of salt

-1/2 teaspoon dried basil

-1 small bay leaf

-6 basil leaves (ribboned)

-Fresh parmesan (shredded)

Next Step:

-On the stovetop in a small pot, heat up the olive oil and sauté the onion for 3 minutes.

-Add in the garlic, red pepper flakes, basil, ground pepper, and salt. Stir and let heat on low for 30 seconds.

-Pour in the tomatoes and stir. Then place a bay leaf on top. Cover 3/4 the way and simmer on low for 30-45 minutes. (After 15 minutes, remove the bay leaf) Be sure to stir the sauce occasionally.

-On the stovetop boil a large pot of water. Once boiling make sure to add a teaspoon of salt.

-Boil the pasta to al dente. Take out and drain.

-Add the pasta back in the pot and pour the sauce all over. Add the fresh basil on top and toss to combine.

-Plate your pasta and add a lot of fresh parmesan!

-Serve and ENJOY!
