Apple Hand Pies!

This might be the easiest apple hand pie recipe, but SO delicious! If I am running low on time but want to serve a yummy dessert, this is my go to!! Be sure to serve a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

Ingredients:

-Store bought pie dough (1 sheet)

-2 Granny Smith Apples (peeled)

-Cinnamon sugar

-1 egg

-Pecans (chopped)~optional

-Vanilla ice cream

Next Step:

-Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

-Sprinkle flour on a large cutting board.

-Roll out the dough and sprinkle a little flour on top and spread around.

-Slice the dough from top to bottom and side to side, so you will have 4 equal pieces of dough.

-Then you will make 3 slices in your dough. (Please see the picture below on how to slice the dough.)

-Set the dough aside.

-Slice your apples (make sure they are not too thin) and core the middle.

-Completely coat the apples in cinnamon sugar.

-Place the prepared apples in the middle of your dough triangle.

-Then gently fold each side up and over the apple pressing firmly when the sides meet in the middle.

-Repeat this step 3 more times until you have a total of 4 apple hand pies.

-Place them on the baking sheet.

-Brush the egg wash over the dough.

-Add a few chopped pecans in the middle.

-Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon sugar on top.

-Lastly sprinkle on Demerara sugar.

-Bake for 19-21 minutes or until the dough is golden around the edges.

-Take out and serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

-ENJOY!!
