Almond Pastry Puff Wreath!


These almond pastry puff wreaths are SO good!! You can enjoy them for breakfast, snack, appetizers, or dessert! They are easy to put together (only 5 minutes!) and taste incredible! They are light, fluffy, and crisp on the outside. Your guests and family will love these!! It is hard to only eat one, I promise!! xo


Ingredients:

-1 sheet of puff pastry (store bought)

-2 tablespoons granulated sugar

-2 tablespoons dark brown sugar

-1 teaspoon almond extract

-1 1/2 tablespoons salted butter (melted)

-1 egg and 1 teaspoon of cold water for the egg wash.

-Sliced almonds

-Demerara sugar

Next Step:

-Preheat oven to 350 F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

-Sprinkle flour on a large cutting board.

-Lay out the puff pastry. (make sure it is defrosted but not too warm)

-Sprinkle a little flour on top and lightly roll out the dough with a roller.

-In a small bowl combine the sugar, brown sugar, and almond extract. Mix to combine.

-Melt the butter in the microwave and brush all over the dough.

-Sprinkle the sugar mix all over the dough.

-Fold the dough in half and lightly press down.

-Using a knife or a pastry cutter, slice a one inch thick strip lengthwise.

-Carefully twist each strip and shape it into a circle. Be sure to seal it tightly or it will open while baking.

-Brush the dough with the egg wash.

-Combine equal parts sliced almonds and Demerara sugar and sprinkle over your wreaths.

-Bake for 19-21 minutes. (Until puffy and golden brown)

-Let rest for 10 minutes.

-Serve and ENJOY!!!
