Shortbread Heart Cookies!

These cookies are tender, crumbly, and melt in your mouth! They are so delicious and perfect to serve at birthday parties, BBQ's, special occasions, and holidays. There are so many ways to decorate these cookies. I love to use a little melted dark chocolate and shredded coconut. My kids love to put the melted chocolate all over the cookie and top them with mini m&m's! Be sure to serve them with a side of whipped cream and fresh berries!

Ingredients:

-1 1/4 cup flour

-6 tablespoons butter (softened)

-1 egg yolk

-3 tablespoons granulated sugar

-1 cup dark chocolate chips

-Shredded unsweetened coconut

-Strawberries

-Whipped Cream

Next Step:

-Preheat oven to 400 F and lightly butter the bottom of your heart pan.

-In a large bowl add the flour, butter, egg yolk, and sugar.

-Using your hands knead and combine the ingredients until it clumps together when pressed.

-Fill the heart pan 3/4 way to the top.

-Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are a light golden brown.

-Let cool for 10 minutes.

-Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave on 30 second increments. Be sure to stir the chocolate chips each time.

-Dip the corner of your shortbread cookie into the melted chocolate.

-Sprinkle with shredded coconut.

-Serve with a side of strawberries and whipped cream!

-ENJOY!!!
